Photography Business Tips For Beginners

Photography Business tips that will help you thrive from the start of your business? Sure, I got you, but first you have to remember that business is not for everyone.

It’s not easy and if it were, everyone would be doing it. You have to keep repeating that to yourself because it’s true and you are entitled to some grace, as you grow.

These 3 tips help me continue and I’m sharing them with you! Having a successful photography business takes more than just photographic skills. It’s an entire mind game and here are things that helped me. I hope you get the same resolution as I did.

Photography Business Tips That Just Work:

The video will go into full detail about the ways I use each tip, but here is a simplified breakdown.

  1. You will have doubts about your talent and why are not booking enough for your photography business. This is normal and from personal experience, I’ve heard the biggest of celebrities suffer from the same doubts. You’ll have tough days and a simple 10-point list is what gets me through the tough days. On this list, I will make a list of things that I am proud of.
Sometimes the heart and mind can take over, and it’s a wild ride. Facts will never change, and I refer to a small list of accomplishments that carry me through the rough patches. What’s on my list? Watch the video to see what makes the list, but I truly hope you practice this method.
  2. Point out their strengths. That goes for your peers in all job facets. You’d be surprised how many people miss the obvious and your kind words could save them from giving up. You’d also be surprised how many people don’t know their strengths because it hasn’t been pointed out to them. I shared a personal story that helped me grow and recognize my mistake.
Imagine discovering your strengths earlier on. Imagine spending more time on what you do right, earlier on. That can be game-changing for anyone and we should have that type of data.
This is vital because they’ll do the same for you. Once you build a relationship with someone, you can also direct their attention to areas that need improvement. It develops an honest relationship and that’s what helps us thrive. They’ll do it for you and you’ll do it for them.
  3. Cheer for people and do it with a big volume! It’s important to build a tribe and people need the same cheering that you and I need. This builds relationships and they’ll cheer us back on. Surround yourself with friends and family who cheer you on, who help you pick up, and who promote you. I use a method called to promote, demote or fire and I discuss that a bit more in the video.
The front row of your life is filled with the greatest people and your biggest haters. Sometimes you may have a family member or close friend putting you down. It’s our job to cheer for our friends, to drown out the haters. They will do the same with us.
