This collaboration began with honoring the past. Janeika and JaSheika’s book was a reflection of where they came from, their shared history, their love of television, and the stories that shaped them long before success found them. They are now successful television writers (EMPIRE, HBO Max Gossip Girl, Bel-Air on Peacock, etc.)

As their creative director, my role was to translate that history into a visual and narrative language that felt authentic, celebratory, and expansive without flattening who they are.

In 2026, that relationship evolves forward. We are currently in pre-production on a podcast built not as a companion to the book, but as its continuation. The book honors where they’ve been. The podcast is designed to honor where they’re going. Their lived experiences since the release, the world as it exists now, and the conversations they are ready to have next.

Through multiple iterations, we are shaping a podcast show that fits them, their voices, and their future as Black Women in the entertainment industry rather than asking them to fit into something predetermined.
